Synopsis

This work includes detailed information for the creation of virtual serious game scenarios in a gradation of difficulty, from simple serious game scenarios to complex serious game scenarios. To do this, the free-use JavaScript-based H5P software is used, whose resources allow the creation and reuse of interactive content as teaching support material. This resource is versatile and can be included in different e-Learning platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas or Brightspace. The scenarios described refer to teaching resources in the fields of Health Sciences and Biomedical Engineering. Empirical studies are also presented on the learning outcomes obtained with the use of these resources in these branches of knowledge. This work has been developed within the framework of the grants for projects of: teaching innovation, project ‘Serious Games Virtual Space’ of the UBU, and research project ‘SmartLearnUni’ No. PID2020-117111RB-I00 funded by the State Research Agency of the Government of Spain and project ‘eEarlyCare-T’ No. 2021-1-ES01-KA220-SCH-000032661 co-financed by the European Union.
